Rusty Pilot Refresher
Haven't flown in a while? Whether it's been a year or ten years, there's no judgment here. We'll ease back into it at whatever pace makes you comfortable.
- Tailored to your comfort level and experience
- Review of cockpit procedures and checklists
- Pattern work — takeoffs and landings
- Airspace and regulation refresher
- Slow flight, stalls, and basic maneuvers
- Can count toward your flight review requirement
What to know
A flight review isn't a checkride — there's no pass or fail. The goal is to make sure you're safe, current, and confident. If we identify areas that need work, we'll train on them together until you're solid. It's as much a learning opportunity as it is a requirement.
If you're coming back after a long break, a rusty pilot refresher is a great way to rebuild your skills before we do the formal flight review. We can combine both into a few sessions depending on how quickly things come back to you.
How long does it take?
A flight review for a current, proficient pilot usually takes about 2–3 hours total (ground + flight). A rusty pilot refresher could be anywhere from 3 to 10+ hours depending on how long it's been and how quickly you get comfortable again. There's no rush — we go at your speed.
