About Me

Hi, I'm Mitch Hagen, a flight instructor with a passion for aviation that's taken me well beyond Michigan, where I spent most of my life. From Tennessee to Florida to 3 years living in South Korea, I've collected a lot of experiences along the way. But flying has always been the constant.

My own journey in aviation started right here at Romeo, Michigan. The same flight school where I'm now proud to be training the next generation of pilots. I earned my Private Pilot Certificate through the Part 91 school, learning the fundamentals the hands-on way. From there, I took my training to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where I earned my instrument rating, multi-engine rating, and commercial certificate. I completed my CFI at Lake Norman, North Carolina.

Having trained in both Part 61 and Part 141 environments gives me a perspective that most instructors don't have. I know what it looks like to learn aviation in a structured, curriculum-driven setting, and I know what it looks like in a more flexible, real-world one. I use both approaches to make sure my students don't just learn how to fly, they learn how to fly safely, think critically in the cockpit, and build habits that will serve them for a lifetime.

I genuinely love teaching, and I'm excited to meet every student who walks through the door. Whether you're here for a discovery flight or determined to earn your certificate, I'm all in. One day I hope to take my own career to the airlines, but right now, there's nowhere I'd rather be than in the right seat helping you reach your goals.
